I grew up in Montpelier, graduated from MHS in 1971 and promptly went of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. I graduated from there in 1975 and was commissioned as an Ensign. I served 5 years and then attended law school at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland. Following law school, I clerked for U.S. District Judge James S. Holden in Rutland. After my one year clerkship, I began working for a law firm in Burlington until 1991 when I joined a firm in Essex Junction. I left that firm in 2001 to open a solo practice. I have been a solo practice since that time.
I have lived in central Vermont since 1984 and enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, basketball and softball. My wife, Beth, and I live in Northfield.
